Earned National Board Certification through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Adolescent / Young Adult Science Education (emphasis in biology).  Facilitated a group of eight science teachers working towards board certification.

 

I have had a lifelong interest in science in general and biology in particular.  I have extensive experience in inquiry-based science, having assisted with multiple biological research and fieldwork projects.  For more information, please view my professional resume

Won a competitive grant through the National Geographic society to travel to Brazil to assist with wildlife conservation research in the Pantanal.

 

Former National Park Service ranger, working at Yosemite National Park in guest interpretive services and wildlife management.

 

Awarded multiple grants from the Issaquah Schools Foundation for cutting edge biotechnology lab materials and selected to serve as a featured speaker at the annual luncheon.

 

Recognized in Washington DC as a recipient of the 2010 Presidential Scholar Teacher Recognition award.

 

 

Assisted with leatherback sea turtle nesting population data collection in Matura, Trinidad.
