Belize (2024)
For our thirteenth student expedition, we went to Riversdale, Belize to work with Dr. Jessica Quinlan of Fishers4Science to assist in monitoring the abundance of shark species along the coast. We deploy the fishing gear and equipment used to catch, tag, and release four species of sharks and collected environmental data such as water depth and temperature. We also explored the world’s first Jaguar preserve,
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, went crocodile spotting at a nearby creek, cleaned the village’s public beach, and caught up on data entry and analysis. |
