Connect
Colleagues, students and parents are welcome to call, email or follow our classroom via social media accounts.
Email
vonbargeng@issaquah.wednet.edu Please feel free to email with any questions, comments, concerns, issues, dramas or nice things to say. I follow a "reply within 48 hours" guideline. Please understand that during some parts of the school year, my email inbox is overflowing with messages and that teaching is always my #1 priority during the school day. |
Twitter
@vb_ibbio I primarily use Twitter to connect with other IB Biology teachers around the world. I often post science news articles that relate to the IB Biology curriculum. Using #ibbio, I'll post photos from the classroom or redacted samples of student work. I periodically participate in Twitter chats, real-time "hashtag conversations" about education. |
Instagram
@ibbioteacher I use Instagram to post photos of class activities and periodic pictures from my life outside of school. I do not and will not "follow back" or respond to student, parent or colleagues inquiries. If you have a need to contact me directly, please email. |
Linkedin
@biologyforlife I use Linkedin as a way to stay connected to colleagues and former students. I am a member of some some professional groups within the platform. Little to no information about our classroom happenings gets posted to Linkedin. |
Remind "vB" I use Remind to send text message reminders to students about things that are happening in class. There are separate accounts for IB Biology I and for IB Biology II. |
Facebook
@IBbiologyinthenews This is a page that is a clone of my Twitter posts, where I share science news articles that relate to the IB Biology curriculum, photos from the classroom or redacted samples of student work. This page has over 1000 followers: IB Biology teachers and students from all over the world! |
YouTube
@ibbioteacher Every now and then I post a video set of notes or some dancing shenanigans from our classroom! |
Phone
425-837-7822 You are welcome to call my office phone with any questions, comments, concerns, issues, dramas or nice things to say. Since teaching is always my #1 priority during the school day, I am unable to answer most phone calls directly. However, if you leave a message I will get back to you at my earliest convenience. During remote learning, I will only be checking my phone messages about once per week. |
